Let’s be real, the first time under the magnifying lamps of an esthetician can make you feel vulnerable, and can even be a bit scary. I strive to undo that stigma, and provide a comfortable, relaxing environment that is built on trust. My name is Stephanie Garlick and I’m so excited to introduce myself as a member of Racquel Aesthetic’s incredible staff. I am a licensed Esthetician/ Certified Laser Technician and Certified Medical Assistant.
I have a passion for teaching clients the importance of proper skin care, and I realized very quickly that I loved going deep into the layers of the skin to help my clients achieve and exceed their goals. 11 years and counting of seeing smiles on beautiful faces is what makes it all worth it for me!
I’m often asked what my favorite skin treatment is, and no matter how many services I perform or try, Microneedling has always taken the top spot. It is the ultimate skin resurfacing treatment because it is 100% customizable to each clients specific needs, has minimal down time, and allows for the most amazing results. The best part is that almost anyone and any skin type can benefit from a microneedling session.
Why Microneedling?
Microneedling treatments use a device with tiny needles to create micro injuries on the skin. This triggers your amazing body to heal itself, and in the process create new collagen and elastin (those things that give you a vibrant, youthful appearance). Pretty cool right? And surprisingly, each treatment only takes 45 to 60 minutes depending on the targeted area.
But what about the pain? We make the experience as pain free and comfortable as possible by applying numbing cream 20-30 minutes before the start of any microneedling treatment.
Microneedling is safe for all skin types and can be done on all body parts along with Face, Neck and Decollete.
Worried about recovery? With any Microneedling treatment the recovery process is very minimal. The inflammatory reaction of the skin is extremely short. The skin will often have the appearance of a mild sunburn (a light pinkish appearance) that will fade within 24-48 hours. By day 3 you may experience the skin starting to slough off and look flaky. Around day 6-7 your skin will be GLOWING, with Collagen growth expected within 3-6 months!
Here are some typical concerns that can be treated with microneedling:
- wrinkles
- acne scars(Pitted)
- sunspots
- Pore size
- hyperpigmentation
- stretch marks
- rosacea
- loose skin
- Sun Damage
- Age Spots
- Hair loss on the Scalp (with PRP)
For best results, I would recommend 4-6 treatments, 4-6 weeks apart. At our first appointment we can dial in those numbers to achieve the results you want.
After the initial series it is best to maintain your results with monthly professional skin treatments and our expertly crafted RFA Medical Skincare line. At Racquel Aesthetics, we are pleased to offer complimentary professional skin analysis both in person and online to truly customize your experience and cater to your particular skin needs. Feel free to contact the office to set up an in person consult, or contact me directly for an online consultation.
So let’s recap: microneedling provides continuous stimulation of collagen and elastin growth that is essentially stacking on itself, skin resurfacing with each treatment, and seeing results in a short time making this treatment a winner!
Types of treatments

The following treatments are safe on your face, neck, declotte, and body. My recommended frequency is a series of 4 treatments, 4-6 weeks apart. After the first series, I recommend doing a refresher after 3-6 months, or another series 6 months to a year later. As always to maintain your results, I’m happy to be able to offer RFA Professional Skincare products to suit your needs. I also recommend monthly professional skin treatments such as facials, dermaplaning, and chemical peels.
Microneedling
Microneedling stand alone treatments are usually done with a Hyaluronic acid serum. While using the device, the serum is applied to the skin as “slip” and then absorbed through the micro channels to hydrate and plump the skin.
Microneedling with PRP
If you want to have the powerhouse Microneedling treatment, then adding on PRP (what i call Liquid Gold) is the one for you! Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is derived from a small sample of your own blood. It contains a variety of growth factors and other beneficial proteins that are unlocked after a spin in a centrifuge. Your PRP(Liquid Gold) is then applied to your skin while using the Microneedling device. Doing PRP along with the microneedling treatment leads to building that wonderful collagen and elastin 10 times faster!
Microneedling with Exosomes
This is a wonderful alternative for someone who wants to rev up their microneedling experience, but not get a blood draw. The rapid release of growth factors in exosomes is what promotes the body’s natural healing process. Exosomes unlock your cells to send in vitamins, minerals, stem cells, growth factors, peptides and more! In turn this leads to faster healing after microneedling PLUS even more stimulation and regeneration of collagen and elastin. This is an amazing way to boost your microneedling treatment and no blood draw is required!
Hydraneedling
The Hydraneedling treatment is a combo of HydraFacial® and microneedling treatments. The best part of this treatment is that microneedling prepares the skin, and allows you to get more benefits than just the HydraFacial® procedure alone.
When we start with microneedling, the pores open and we lay the groundwork for collagen production. Then, the HydraFacial® treatment is performed, cleansing the skin and extracting any impurities from the pores we just opened. The final step involves nourishing the skin with specialized serums, providing hydration and aiding in the recovery process. This is a great option for clients who have already completed a series of Microneedling and want a refresh 6 months to a year later.
Microneedling with Chemical Peels

Microneedling is effective in penetrating deeper, older layers of the skin, studies suggest that if we combine this treatment with high-end chemical peels, we can also see an improvement in the more superficial layers of the skin too. Combining the two enhances your skin from the inside out, to reveal fresh younger-looking skin. The collagen-boosting power of each Microneedling treatment complements the next for fantastic results.
Chemical Peels are powerful exfoliating treatments that remove old, dry, dull cells from your skin’s surface. As your dead skin cells peel away, it reveals new healthy skin underneath.
We offer peels of varying strengths to accommodate your needs and reduce the appearance of:
- Wrinkles and fine lines
- Sun damage and hyperpigmentation
- Acne scars
- Uneven skin tone and redness
During a chemical peel, we apply the chemical agent to the skin on your face, chest, or neck. You might feel a tingling sensation while the peel works on your skin. After your peel, your skin will be a little pink or red, and depending on the strength of your peel, you could need 4-14 days for your skin to recover fully.
Dermaplaning
A wonderful addition to any microneedling service is dermaplaning to be performed the day before or day of the microneedling treatment. If you are not familiar with Dermaplaning it is a form of professional mechanical exfoliation. A surgical scalpel is used to gently shave the top layer of the skin, and vellus hair, AKA peach fuzz. Dermaplaning before Micro-needling allows for topical products to penetrate significantly deeper into the skin layers, allowing the patient to achieve the most desirable outcome. It is quite versatile, and can even be combined with a light peel or facial.
