I am so excited to feature nurse injector and mama Brooke Coudret on the blog this week. Brooke Coudret, RN, BSN is a board certified nurse and one of our amazing nurse injectors at Racquel Aesthetics. Brooke is passionate about all things motherhood and loves helping new moms adjust! Take it away sister!
Hi Mamas !
Welcome! I assume you’re here because you’re expecting a precious angel or planning on it in the foreseeable future. Well, you’ve come to the right place! But first, allow me to introduce myself: I’m Brooke! I am a mama of 2 boys, Bowie and Bauer, and a soon-to-be GIRL mama in July! While “Mom” is hands-down the best title I have ever held, I am also an Aesthetic Nurse Specialist and specialize in pregnancy and breastfeeding-safe products at Racquel Aesthetics and our very own, amazing skin care line, RFA. I love using my passions for aesthetic medicine, skin care, and mamahood to help all my fellow mamas and soon-to-be mamas out there navigate the world of skin care and aesthetics during pregnancy and/or breast feeding.

So you find out you’re pregnant and you think, “Now what?!” You’ve heard different rumors on what you can and can’t do, and even after you meet with your OB, you feel totally lost. You’re not alone, I promise. Heck, I’m 3 kids deep and still find myself asking a lot of questions. Pregnancy is such a world of the unknown. What can I eat? Can I use a self-tanner? Can I get botox? What CAN I do?

Well, I am here to help by providing you with some of the skin care I feel comfortable using and recommending during pregnancy! Please note that specific products/plans recommended will vary from patient-to-patient based on their individual goals!
This has been my go to AM & PM plan, with the focus being on evening complexion, preventing acne, & maintaining hydration:
AM
- Cleanse with Gentle Foaming Cleanser (1-2 pumps)
- Hydrating Toner misted across the face (2-3 spritz)
- Radiant Vitamin C Serum (1-2 pumps)
- HA Peptide Serum (1-2 pumps)
- Tinted Protect SPF (1-2 pumps)
- Hydrating Eye Serum (1/2-1/3 pump- a little bit goes a long way)
PM
- Cleanse with Gentle Foaming Cleanser (1-2 pumps)
- Hydrating Toner misted across the face (2-3 spritz)
- Mandelic 5% Pad (swipe pad across the face & throw it in the trash) – I only apply moisturizer on top of my skin post-pad application if my skin is super dry or irritated. Note that moisturizer will slightly neutralize the pads potency.
- HA Peptide Serum (1-2 pumps)
- Hydralipid Moisturizer (1-2 pumps)
- Hydrating Eye Serum (1/2-1/3 pump- a little bit goes a long way)
Because ingredients do matter during pregnancy, let me take that troubleshooting portion out of the way for you! Here’s what we know: studies show that only small portions of ingredients are absorbed systemically, and in most cases, mamas can deal with correcting cosmetically unappealing skin conditions without compromising the safety of their unborn children. For example, so many women have heard to set aside their acne exfoliants while pregnant. However, ingredients such as salicylic acid can still be used as long as it’s under 2%.
Here are just a few additional pregnancy safe ingredients I use and absolutely recommend:

After all these years, you’d think that being a pregnant mom would be easy and we would have all the answers, but sometimes we still just don’t! And that’s OK – that’s what I am here for! I have done my research on safe skin care & would love to work with you to ensure you have the best pregnancy glow and truly feel your best during those grueling 9+ months!
Although I feel comfortable recommending certain RFA skin care products during pregnancy and while breastfeeding, please run all medical grade products by your OBGYN for the final say-so.
