What is Double Cleansing? How Do I do It?
As the name suggests, double cleansing simply means cleansing your face 2x. The benefit of double cleansing is that the first cleanser will break down any makeup, remove dirt and excess oils from the day and clean your skin. The second cleanser will address your particular skin type or concern and should have ingredients to hydrate, exfoliate, and/or treat your skin.
In the morning, one round of cleansing is just fine if you are waking up with a makeup-free face. After a long day…that’s when an extra cleansing step can be beneficial. Double cleansing the skin is recommended at night or after wearing makeup.
PRECLEANSE
I recommend using RFA Cleansing Balm as a pre-cleanse and to remove makeup and debris from the skin. Our Cleansing Balm is designed with powerful hydrating properties of Sodium Hyaluronate and soothing benefits of Camellia Sinensis Green Tea, which will leave your skin feeling deeply conditioned. Doing a pre-cleanse at night to remove makeup or product from the day is crucial for optimal skin health. It ensures that no impurities are left behind. Apply cleanser to dry skin, slowly add water with finger tips to emulsify makeup and product using circular motions. Once emulsified, use a microfiber cloth or gentle washcloth and gently wipe away the cleanser. Do this until all cleanser has been removed.
SECOND CLEANSE = DEEPER CLEANSE
This second cleanse is used with a treatment cleanser. This cleanser is tailored to your skin type for a deeper cleanse to remove the most impurities while leaving your skin soft and clean. This cleanse is used on pre cleansed skin to achieve max results! For most skin types, this cleanse can be used with finger tips and circular motions.
