There are thousands of injectors in the country so today I want to explain how you can confidently choose your own provider. When I hire providers for our practice, I take the vetting process very seriously because your safety is and always will be our highest priority. If they have qualifications and education they are probably making it known on their website/profile etc. If they aren’t bragging it up they probably don’t have the certifications/letters to brag about.

Ask around to those you trust to find out who they see. If you see someone that looks good, ask them where they go. You’ll be surprised at how much someone will open up. From personal experience, word of mouth is my BIGGEST source of referrals. I always want to make sure my patients not only leave looking and feeling their very best, but also leaving with the best experience feeling confident and cared for. Social media can also be a great tool when used wisely. In fact, it is one of the places I first look for considering beauty services. Look at the injector’s social media presence. This can tell you a lot about how they care for their patients. Top injectors love showcasing their work on platforms their patients use, such as Instagram, Tik Tok, and Facebook. Try not to get caught up in the number of followers and focus on their content and engagement. Nowadays, people can buy Instagram followers. If you are considering a provider, one of the best places you can learn more about them is through their social media accounts.
What to look for:
- Do they educate?
- Do they showcase authentic before and after photos?
- Do they openly talk about safety techniques and protocols?
Before and After Photos
Before and after photos are a window into an injector’s skill and aesthetic eye. Does the injector’s before and after photos look natural and beautiful or overdone and unnatural? Aesthetics is an art and it is all about enhancing a person’s features. If you don’t see many examples online – ask for them during a consultation.
Safety Standards
Injectables are not something to take lightly. Safety should be the #1 priority of any injector you see. Treatments should be performed in a clean environment and your provider should educate you and walk you through the risks and benefits of any procedure. They should never rush through a consultation or pressure you into something you don’t feel ready for. Something else to look for is if they offer any advanced technology that puts your well being first? Injectors should be well trained and fully prepared to manage any complications, calmly, quickly, and effectively.
Avoid Shopping by Price Alone
This is something I will never stop preaching about to anyone and everyone. I have a whole blog post about it, here. I completely understand the desire to find a good deal but when it comes to your face, cheaper is definitely not always better! Highly skilled injectors invest in education, advanced training and technology, quality products, and safety protocols – all of which ensure the best and safest outcomes. Be wary of prices that seem too good to be true.
My mantra: “You are not paying for the botox or the syringe of the filler…you are paying for the years of knowledge and expertise in the hand holding it.”
I’ll be honest, highly skilled injectors are usually in high demand which means their schedules are often booked out weeks or even months in advance. If an injector is able to see you the same day, that could be a red flag, unless it’s due to a last minute cancellation.
With this being said, even the best injectors run promotions or special offers throughout the year as a way to thank their loyal patients. Instead of chasing the best deal, join their newsletter or check their website for monthly specials. And if their calendar is full, don’t be discouraged! Book the appointment and ask to be added to their cancellation list. It’s worth the wait to ensure you’re in safe hands!
Take Advantage of a Consultation
If you are unsure about the provider or the treatment, I highly recommend an initial consultation. This will make sure you are fully prepared for injectables and a chance to ask questions and see if the injector is the right fit for you. Do they listen? Do they educate you about your options?
