Sculptra PErfected

Sculptra has been around for years and we feel like it has truly been perfected the last couple of years and are very excited to bring it on at Racquel Aesthetics.  Sculptra works with your body to help rebuild lost collagen.

Collagen is the most important protein in the body that helps to support the skin structure. Collagen begins to decrease as we age due to environmental factors and time.  We notice the lost collagen in aging skin through fine lines, loss of elasticity and dullness.  We are constantly talking about collagen production through topicals and lasers but we are so excited to talk about a new collagen producer, Sculptra.

Our highly trained providers will inject Sculptra into the appropriate dermal plane where the collagen and elastin fibers reside.  Patients will notice an instant glow and boost in volume from the treatment.  It is normal to lose this initial volume in the beginning, however the medicine will gradually help to rebuild collagen through a series of treatments.  Most patients need at least 2-3 treatments 4 weeks apart.

Sculptra is just another tool in our toolbox and we are so excited to offer it to you.  Next time you are in our chair or schedule an appointment, ask us if Sculptra is a good option for you for a little collagen boost.

Sculptra Q&A

How long does this last?

Once you have completed a series, results last up to 2 years.

How much does it cost?

Each treatment is $1000 per vial.  Amount and frequency of treatment depends on the specific need of the patient.

How often do I need a Sculptra treatment?

You want to complete each treatment 4 weeks apart and most patients need 2 or 3 treatments in a series.

Is Sculptra the same thing as filler?

No!  Filler is a hyaluronic acid that creates volume and contour in the face.  Sculptra is a poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) collagen stimulator.  Sculptra helps to restore the deep underlying structure of the skin by stimulating collagen production.  This happens as the Sculptra PLLA microparticles are absorbed gradually over time.

When do I see results?

You will notice an immediate glow and volume restoration from the treatment, however the medicine will begin working on the deep layer of the skin and you will notice the initial volume restoration fade.  Over the next 4-6 weeks you will see the collagen stimulation and notice a more youthful appearance.

What are post care instructions?

We call this the 5-5-5!  Massage the treated area for 5 minutes, 5 times per day for 5 days.  You may ice the area for comfort and keep the area clean for 24 hours to minimize infection risk.
