Injectables: Contour & Highlights

Hi!  I’m so honored and excited to be a part of Racquel’s vision and blog.  She truly is changing lives and it means the world to me to work alongside her and this team.  I have been specializing in injectables since 2014 and I met Racquel in 2015 after reaching out about tear trough injections.  Racquel had a skill level with injections that was unlike anything I had seen with other providers, and I wanted to learn her secrets!   I will never forget how knowledgeable and kind she was to me..  That day was life changing for my career because the things I learned from her really set me apart as an injector.

Fast forward to 2022:  I am now a lead injector at Racquel Aesthetics.  I specialize in injectables and I absolutely love my job.  I’ve always been a cheerleader for other women, so naturally seeing someone build inner confidence and beauty through the art of injectables is the BEST part of my job.

Injectables are used to highlight and contour the face –treating volume and bone loss that happens with age.  Treating the entire face using a natural technique is my favorite approach because it really is that subtle lift and highlight that can be such a game changing boost of confidence in my patients.

WHAT TO EXPECT AT VISIT

I always start with a consultation.  Communication is key for excellent results and I want to get to know the real you.  Building relationships is so important and I want to understand what you love about your face as well as the changes you have noticed.  I always schedule a follow up to ensure a result we both love.  Getting the look you want using fillers is a process, and you have to trust the process.  I will be with you the entire time.

Prior to your treatment, I prep your skin – removing all makeup around the treatment area.  Then I apply topical numbing.  Once your skin is ready,  I gently apply filler to the treatment areas. Most people describe this process as very tolerable. After the last injection, voilà, you made it!  I really try to make this process comfortable for you and explain the location and reason for each injection.  I want you to feel empowered and in control of your treatment plan because it really is all about you.

IMPORTANT TIPS

Bruising and swelling are common with injectable treatments and there are some things you can do to minimize this.  Avoid alcohol and blood thinners (with clearance from the prescribing physician).  You will also want to decrease your caffeine intake.  Don’t forget to BREATHE –  taking big belly breaths during treatment and releasing tension helps blood pressure stabilize and decreases bleeding.  Truthfully, even if we do all  these things, you still may get a little bruise, so always keep this in mind.

Plan on two treatments to achieve our goals.  As mentioned, filler is a process and it sometimes takes a couple of treatments to achieve your desired results.  I definitely have patients that achieve results in one visit, but I always say to plan on two, ensuring expectations have been set.

Do not wear makeup for 24 hours post injections. You don’t want any bacteria getting into the treatment area and makeup (especially makeup brushes) is prone to bacteria, so plan on being fresh faced for 24 hours.

Avoid massages or facials for two weeks post treatment.  I will often massage the injection sites during your treatment to ensure the filler is exactly where I want it.  The no facial/massage rule helps keep this placement perfect.

Injectables are truly my passion.   I want you to love the way you look and feel great!  The better you feel about yourself, the better you treat the people around you, and ultimately makes our world a more beautiful place.  Let me help you feel and spread this beauty!
