I cannot believe the holidays are among us!!! It is such a fun and special time! Being a mama and experiencing the holidays through my 3 kids’ eyes melts my heart. It is beyond special and each year it gets more fun. Soaking up the holiday spirit and creating memories that will last a lifetime is truly the best.
I am all about special memories and experiences that our kids can hold on to forever. We have had a jam packed December of holiday fun and we still have a couple things to check off our holiday list for the kids. It’s been go, go, go and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
We’ve had Santa Day at Racquel Aesthetics. I enjoyed seeing so many of our work family, patients and friends have the best morning with Santa. Experienced a great breakfast with Mr. Claus and had our annual photos with Santa. Lauren Muckler is our favorite photographer and nails her Santa sessions every year. I love looking back at all of the years, it makes me emotional seeing how much the kids grow up year by year. Her studio, Mr. Claus and talent is second to none! Make a note for next year to book your holiday photos with her!
In St. Louis we have an incredible Polar Express Train experience through Union Station that the kids absolutely love. We went this year with family, friends and Racquel Aesthetics family. The train, the music, hot cocoa and everything they do to make it truly magical lights up the kids’ eyes. This is a tradition we have done the last couple years and we will continue to, until they outgrow it. I think Sal & I love it as much as the kids do.
Another awesome experience that was so magical this season was going to the Fox Theater here in St. Louis. We saw Rudolph the Musical. Dressing up fancy, going to the Fox and seeing a Christmas Musical, what’s not to LOVE! The Fabulous Fox is a beautiful Theater in St. Louis, that has great plays and musicals all year long. The 2024 lineup of plays is incredible!
The kids love our fun little Christmas party with their little friends where we play “rob your neighbor” and make cookies. We play games, musical chairs and go overboard on being festive and making it so fun for them!
Probably one of my FAVORITE things we do with the kids is driving to see Christmas lights. We hit up all the different light parks and neighborhoods. We get cozy in our Christmas pjs and listen to Christmas music. We go to candy cane lane, Santa’s magical kingdom, Tillis park, Grants Farm and any neighborhood where we see the street lit up bright! It’s so fun to hear the kids’ reactions and giggles as they look at everything.
We will be baking fun Christmas cookies to put out for Santa and decorating gingerbread houses this week. The kids look forward to using their skills in the kitchen and enjoying a little sugar ☺️ Oh… and I can’t forget we’ve been blasting Christmas music and watching all the classic Christmas movies with the kids all month long!
On Christmas Eve & Christmas Day, we spend these two days with our family and truly they are two of my favorite days of the year! I know I keep referring to everything as being magical, but the kids waking up on Christmas morning is the BEST! To hear their little feet running down around, screaming with excitement to see what Santa brought and all their giggles is priceless. Sal and I love being their parents. We feel incredibly blessed. There is nothing better than spending time with family, laughing, celebrating, eating yummy food and making memories.
As we go into this week, my Christmas wish is that you have a safe, healthy and happy holiday, spending time with the people you love the most!
Happy Holidays!
XO-
Racquel
