For all my Moms out there, mom-to-be’s, or anyone planning on raising children in the future, this is for you. I want to share my WHY. My inspiration to be my best self.
And that is my children — my children are my WHY.
They are my everything and I want to touch on how becoming a mother has been the greatest gift in my life. The type of love I have for my babies is almost impossible to understand. You know when people tell you the first time you look at your children you will feel a type of love you have never felt before? I used to hear that and roll my eyes. I truly didn’t understand. But now, I get it. I totally get it.
I never realized or felt a type of immeasurable love that changed the way I look at the world. Since they were born, my life has changed so much. Every action I took and take always depends on them. Every meal, every workout, every trip. I know longer get to live just for me and before getting pregnant I was a bit scared of losing that freedom. But when you have that little baby in your arms the maternal instincts click in and now I don’t miss any of it. To know that they are completely dependant on me is such a beautiful and rewarding responsibility.
For all my mom’s out there, you get it. Being a parent comes with a ton of responsibility. It can be exhausting—some days you feel like you just need a break, but then I remember. I remember the joy I get when I watch them smile and grow into these amazing little humans. I just look at them and smile.
My purpose in life is stronger. Not only in my role as a mother but also as a wife and in my professional career. My children hold me accountable. I know I have to lead by example. My number one goal is to help them be the kind of people who make the world a better place for generations to come. If I expect them to be the best versions of themselves, I have to show them the best version of myself. I remind myself of this every single day.
I want to remind all of you reading this that you’re doing amazing. You are strong. You are accountable. And you are an amazing mother. You are leading by example and in turn, you are changing the world. You are raising your little ones to be the best people they can be. Believe me when I say our children will change the world one day.
I find it’s such a privilege to have the influence on them that Sal and I do. We know they watch and mimic our every move so it’s very rewarding that we get to show them the world through our lens and let them grow and evolve into incredible people with our guidance.
One last thing for you mamas, remember to take care of yourself and give yourself “me time”. You need to recharge before you can be the best for your babies. When you are the best version of yourself there is less tension, less stress, and fewer arguments. So eat well, move your body, do fun things you love and get sleep when you can.
You’re doing great,
